After comparing Apple iPad 3G and Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000, let us now compare another two tablet PCs: this time, let's have another Tablet Showdown: Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 versus Viewsonic Viewpad 7; both runs at Android 2.2 OS.
1st Round: Processor Power
By comparing the processors of Samsung Galaxy Tab and Viewsonic Viewpad 7, we'll can quickly see their difference: the Samsung Galaxy Tab runs at Hummingbird which consist of Cortex A8 at 1GHz, PowerVR SGX540 GPU, and 512MB RAM; while Viewsonic Viewpad 7 runs at Qualcomm MSM 7227 which is consist of ARM1136EJ-S at 600 MHz and 512MB RAM only. Having a much higher processor plus a powerful GPU advantage, Samsung Galaxy Tab is obviously much better than Viewsonic Viewpad 7 when it comes to processor.
2nd Round: Storage Capacity
Even when it comes to storage capacity, we can easily see their difference. Samsung Galaxy Tab has a 16GB and a 32GB of internal memory options; not to mention the additional 32GB external memory through microSD. On the other hand, Viewsonic Viewpad 7 has only 512MB of internal memory which can be extended up to 32GB on external memory. Samsung Galaxy Tab still have advantage over Viewsonic Viewpad 7 when it comes to storage capacity.
3rd Round: Battery Endurance
Samsung Galaxy Tab can last up to 7 hours with its Lithium-ion battery; much longer compare Viewsonic Viewpad 7 which can last for 4 to 6 hours only with its built-in battery. Since a Lithium-ion battery is removable one and better than a built-in battery, it is much wiser to have Samsung Galaxy Tab rather than Viewsonic Viewpad 7.
4th Round: Size and Weight Comparison
Both Samsung Galaxy Tab and Viewsonic Viewpad 7 have a 7-inch display. But, Samsung Galaxy Tab has a screen resolution of 1024x600; much better compare to 800x480 screen resolution of Viewsonic Viewpad 7. When it comes to weight, Samsung Galaxy Tab weights only 3g heavier than Viewsonic Viewpad 7 which weight 377g.Despite of close similarities in terms of screen size and weight, due to screen resolution difference, Samsung Galaxy Tab is much better compare to Viewsonic Viewpad 7.
5th Round: Connectivity Capability
The Galaxy Tab packs 3G/HSDPA (up to 7.2Mbps). Also, the Samsung tablet can be used to make phone calls (via a Bluetooth headset) and to send/receive SMS/MMS data; not to mention the 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 complete a great specification. On the other hand, Viewsonic Viewpad 7 packs 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR only. These set the difference between the two tablets when in comes to connectivity aspect.
After five rounds of comparison; after seeing their difference in different imoprtant aspects; Samsung Galaxy Tab rule over Viewsonic Viewpad 7. Pretty obvious, isn't it?
